Happy Hıdrellez everyone!

Hıdırellez or Hıdrellez is a traditional celebration observed in Turkey, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and other parts of Central Asia and the Caucasus region. It is celebrated on May 5th and is known as the "Festival of Hıdır and İlyas" in Islamic tradition.

According to legend, Hıdır and İlyas were two prophets who met on this day and drank from the Fountain of Youth. As a result, Hıdırellez is considered a time of renewal, regeneration, and new beginnings.

The celebration is marked by various customs and rituals, such as making wishes, lighting bonfires, and performing dances and songs. It is believed that jumping over the fire will protect from diseases. People gather in parks, gardens, and other public places to participate in the festivities, which often include food, music, and games.

The most practiced and known tradition is to leave a written wish under a rose tree on the evening of Hıdırellez. The next day, the paper on which the wishes are written is thrown.
